Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., “The Singularity”, Review!

The team leaves the base in search of Inhumans that Hive might try to infect. FitzSimmons have information on a Dr. Holden Radcliffe (John Hannah), who’s research on human enhancement, specifically that of being able to resist parasites might save Daisy. Fitz, Simmons, and Mack go off in hopes of getting his help. Meanwhile, Coulson, May, and Lincoln go after a shapeshifting Inhuman named Alisha. Lincoln is forced wear a exploding vest (which Lincoln dubs the ‘murder-vest’) in case he gets infected by Hive, and Coulson hands the trigger off to May. By the time they reach Alisha, she’s already been infected. Daisy and Hive go to James’ trailer and put him through terrogensis, after he becomes Inhuman Hive controls him and forces him to reveal the location of something he is hiding. Hive reveals it as “The only thing that can destroy me.” Back with the other half of the team Mack is running coms while FitzSimmons go undercover in an attempt to get Dr. Radcliffe’s help. Coulson and May go to what is left of James’s trailer, only to find that it’s rigged to explode, Coulson protects May, using a sort of holo-shield from his cybernetic hand. Looking much like Captain America’s shield, save for the S.H.I.E.L.D. logo on the front. Another thing I like that they addressed how Coulson values Daisy more then some of his other agents. While it’s sweet that he cares, he simply can’t do that as a leader.
FitzSimmons finally meet Dr. Radcliffe, however, Daisy comes in. She threatens Fitz, telling him not to try and save her while choking him with her powers. Simmons gets confronted with Hive, who attempts to use Will’s memories against her. She responds by shooting him several times in the gut. As for Hive, I have to say he is my favorite AoS villain so far. He is genuinely interesting and intimidating. I honestly can’t wait to to see more of him. Fitz and Simmons meet in the hotel room they were using as a base make use of the bed. Fans have been screaming for this since the show began and damn, does it feel nice to finally get it. And boy, it’s just as adorable as I thought it would be. Back at the base, Coulson had been contacted by Talbot, and told they had enough information from Malick to destroy what was left of Hydra. Coulson and May watched on screen as what was left of their bases were destroyed. The episode closes out with Hive revealing that he wants to use the doctor to make all humans Inhuman. I loved this episode, and hope the series continues on like this. Four out of five.
