Captain America: Civil War, Team Cap, Review!

Post-Mission Assessment – The events of the Civil War incident had its roots in an action taking place in 1991. The Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) was activated at that time to fulfill an assassination. The events of the Avengers conflict with the Chitauri in New York, the destruction of Washington D.C. during the fall of S.H.I.E.L.D., and finally countering Ultron in Sokovia, have reached an endpoint. Recently, in Lagos, Nigeria, Captain America (Chris Evans) led a team of the Avengers to find Brock Rumlow (Frank Grillo) under the identity of Crossbones. His team consisted of aerial reconnaissance, Sam Wilson known as the Falcon (Anthony Mackie), with the addition of a drone, scanning unit and weapon, called Redwing, veteran agent, Natasha Romanoff, aka the Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), and new to the field, Wanda Maximoff, the Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen). Captain Rogers discovered that Rumlow was after a bio-chemical weapon for an unknown person. The conflict resulted in [REDACTED]. The end result was action by a majority of countries in the United Nations to enact the Sokovia Accords. This was delivered to the Avengers through Secretary of State Thaddeus Ross (William Hurt). Head of Stark Industries, Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) was present at meeting with a woman in the State Department, Miriam (Alfre Woodard) who explained that her son was in Sokova. Also, present at the meeting were other members of the Avengers, decorated officer, James Rhodes (Don Cheadle), and the artificial intelligence called the Vision (Paul Bettany). We have unconfirmed reports that while this was occurring a figure known as Helmut Zemo (Daniel Bruhl) was working to uncover the events of 1991. The records are unclear, but point to his first appearance in The Avengers #6 (1964) as disclosed by Agents Stan Lee and Jack Kirby.

Amendment to Assessment – Directors Anthony Russo and Joe Russo have succeeded admirably in following up the events of Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014) along with Writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. In fact, it must be emphasized that this is a direct follow-up to Winter Soldier that makes this central to a large part of the Civil War incident. This is in high contrast to another conflict code named Beavis between two [REDACTED] “heroes.” Captain America stands as an inspirational figure to his fellow Avengers and others. Captain Rogers’ position compared to that of his Avenger teammate, Iron Man, is not easily identified as both sides have complications. Special emphasis has to be placed on T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman) known as the Black Panther, since several of his Wakandan people were lost in Lagos. He was reported to have made his first appearance in Fantastic Four #52 (1966) also reported by Agents Lee and Kirby. Black Panther has proven himself as a match for the Winter Soldier and is obsessed with a path of revenge. The Black Panther suit is formidable woven of vibranium with claws, but equally dangerous is the fighting skills of T’Challa. The reports on the conflict at the Leipzig/Halle Airport are erratic at best. Our analysis identifies Agent Clint Barton, Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) and someone named Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) who goes by the name Antman, all additions to Captain Rogers’ team.

Lang’s addition is reported to bring levity to the team during the conflict. The same levity could be seen in a young member of Stark’s team. He was identified only as Spider-Man (Tom Holland) and his appearance warrants further interest in his activities. This Spider-Man is said to have first appeared in Amazing Fantasy #15 (1962) by Agents Lee and Steve Ditko. The Winter Soldier is struggling to overcome his programming by Russian agents in Hydra. He must also deal with the consequences of his past missions. Analysts could identify the purpose of members of both teams, but their loyalties are not set. The cast in point, is Sharon Carter (Emily VanCamp), Agent 13, who works for the task force, but reports have appeared that she has been assisting Captain Rogers. Her fighting skills have come into play against the Winter Soldier, but not her loyalty. The original narrative, Civil War, by Agents Mark Millar and Steve McNiven, is roughly followed with the Stamford disaster like Lagos, Stark in charge of the task force, S.H.I.E.L.D. was taken down in the MCU, but it remains unpredictable to those who followed the comic book.  All agents are urged to review the Captain America: Civil War film.
