Legends of Tomorrow, “Legendary”, Review!

The Season Finale wraps up with the sacrifice of Snart to destroy the Time Master’s base, the Vanishing Point. Rip Hunter has taken them to five months after they had left their present day in Star City, he is a hologram, and leaves in the Waverider. Sara meets with her father (Paul Blackthorne) who tells her that Damien Darhk killed Laurel. Mick flames his criminal partner and his driver in the mask is Ray Palmer. Martin Stein talks with his wife about his “sabbatical.” He travels with Jefferson to the time ship’s former location, Ray and Mick are there, and Sara joins them. Rip sees a hologram of his son. The ship reappears and the group wants to finish the mission. Kendra is running in Saint-Lo, France 1944. She is found by a soldier who she writes a message hidden in his helmet. The soldier is killed by a knife and Vandal Savage chokes her out. Rip checks on the helmet and sees the message. Kendra wakens and sees Carter, Savage needs their blood to activate Thanagarian technology that gave them immortality. Sara is distraught that Rip can’t take them back to save her sister. Savage meets with the Nazi military and starts throwing knives when the Legends drop in with their powers. Jefferson frees Kendra and Carter. He catches a Nazi guard’s weapon and turns it into sand. Kendra is knocked down. Rip introduces Carter to the time ship and Hawkman brings them up to date. Jefferson convinces Stein to their new power. Stein knows Savage’s plan, three meteors blown up at three different times; 1958, 1975, 2021, the time Earth and Thanagar were in alignment. Savage meets his earlier counterpart and gives him the blood.
St. Roch, 2021, on a rooftop Savage has Kendra tied up, the meteorite out, Harmony Falls, 1958, Savage goes to the meteor. Norway, 1975, Jefferson and Stein sees Firestorm in action and then the meteor is taken by Savage. He pours the blood, the other time periods, the ritual begins. Atom and Heatwave faces the Hawkmonsters. Rip leads the team to save Kendra. Canary takes on Savage. Rip is shot off the roof, but flies up on the Waverider Back to the Future-style. Hawkman and Hawkgirl fight Savage. Heatwave bashes Sabage. Kendra stabs Savage, Heatwave makes him crispy, and Canary snaps his neck with her staff. Triple death. Rip slams Savage into electric tubes. The meteor is going critical, Heatwave says, “Do something Robocop!”, love it!, he shrinks it. Firestorm transforms the meteor and then arrives with the others. The last meteor goes critical, Firestorm and Atom try to stop it, but fail. Rip takes the meteor away on the Waverider to the sun and says “It’s been an honor to be your captain” to the team. He awakens to hear his family’s voices and hugs them. He wakens again to try for one more jump. The Waverider lands at the time Rip left them. Rip says he will protect the timeline and offers the others on the team. Sara returns to Star City to the grave of Laurel with Quentin. He says he’s proud of her. Stein wants to stay with his wife, but she thinks he should go, Jefferson has talked to her. Star City, 2013, a bar, Mick sees Leonard. He says, “You’re the best guy I ever knew.” Mick walks out and sees Rip and Ray. Three years later in Star City, the Legends have assembled except without the Hawkcouple. Another Waverider crashes! A man who walks out asking if the date was may, 2016, who sent by Mick. Rex Tyler, a member of the Justice Society of America! Tyler is Hourman who first appeared in Adventure Comics #48 (1940). Looks like the next world and threat is here! Their greatest villain was the Ultra-Humanite or the Wizard leading the Injustice Society. Four Time Spheres out of Five!
