DC – Green Lantern, Hal Jordan, was created in Showcase #22 (1959) by John Broome and Gil Kane, one of the founding members of the Justice League of America, Hal Jordan discovers Abin Sur and inherits his ring as the GL of Space Sector 2814, he can form constructs using his willpower with the Oan power ring. Ryan Reynolds played GL in the Green Lantern (2011) film.
Marvel – Silver Surfer, Norrin Radd, created by the legendary team of Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in Fantastic Four #48 (1966), to save his planet, Norrin Radd becomes the herald of the world destroyer Galactus, the Surfer turns against Galactus, he is given his chrome form riding the cosmic space ways on his silver surfboard. The Silver Surfer appeared in Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007) portrayed by Doug Jones with a voice by Laurence Fishburne.
This battle will ignite the cosmos with stars going nova, but this is a fight that has already been decided. In Marvel vs. DC #3 (1996) by Ron Marz, Dan Jurgens, and Claudio Castellini, Silver Surfer stood while Green Lantern was knocked out by their full blasts. The Kyle Rayner GL met Silver Surfer in Green Lantern Silver Surfer: Unholy Alliances (1995) one-shot by Ron Marz and Darryl Banks. Their villains are switched and bring Cyborg Superman and Terrax the Tamer against the heroes. They have to team up to take on Parallax and Thanos! The two cosmic heroes meet each other and Rayner is collapsed on the surfboard! It is apparent in both matches that the Silver Surfer would triumph!
