Ms. Marvel #6 Review!

In the conclusion to the ‘Army of One’ storyline, written by G. Willow Wilson with art by Nico Leon, Kamala Khan must figure out how get rid of all her dopplegangers before they destroy Jersey City! Luckily, she gets some help from her friend Captain Marvel, calling the Air Force to solve the problem in a matter of minutes.  Captain Danvers lets Kamala know the importance of prioritizing, something every teenager has difficulty learning. There’s clearly some set up for the Civil War 2 comic event coming up as there are a couple of tense panels between Captain Marvel and Iron Man as he arrives on scene. Kamala lets Iron Man know that she had been slightly overwhelmed between school, family, and being a superhero. In an adorable moment, Stark hugs Kamala and let’s her know that none of the Avengers will be mad if she can’t help because she’s at school or with her family. This was a fluff issue. Not a lot of plot development, just some filler and tying up loose ends. I personally loved it. Those little cute moments, particularly with younger characters, when they learn how to handle growing up like any other person their age is important. It makes us identify with the character more than any fight scene ever would, because we’ve been there before. Maybe it is a bit campy, but all comics are. That being said, while this storyline had an important message, it was a bit ridiculous. I’m excited to see what they do next with Kamala, and how she will tie into Civil War 2. Four out of five stars.
