The Last Jedi Premiere was held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles Ca in Saturday December 9th, 2017.

The Last Jedi is the eighth of nine planned “episodes” featuring the space saga of the Skywalker family. A New Hope, the first of the 8 films, was released in 1977. George Lucas, the creator of Star Wars, forever changed movies and created the summer blockbuster. Lucas sold Lucasfilm and the rights to Star Wars to the Walt Disney Company for a record $5 billion.

Since the sale Disney has announced several more films including an all new trilogy not related to any of the Star Wars films created by Rian Johnson. Disneyland parks have also announced an entire themed land “Galaxy’s Edge” and a dedicated themed hotel to be built at the DisneyWorld Resort, Orlando.
