Once Upon a Time, “Heartless”, Review!

Mary Margaret and David are asleep, she wakes and finds herself in the forest to see the Evil Queen. She still wants Snow White’s heart. Mary Margaret tells her about Regina’s protection spell, the Evil Queen says that her enemy will give up her heart, she gives Mary Margaret in a potion and 12 hours to find out about it. Regina walks into Zelena’s house and tells her about her revenge. The Enchanted Forest, Snow White shows a piece of jewelry to a man who offers three coppers. A dog barks as Prince Charming returns to his farm to see his mother, Ruth (Gabrielle Rose) who wants him to sell the farm. Snow meets with Blue Fairy (Keegan Connor Tracy) and then fights with an axeman, the Woodcutter (Paul Johansson). She throws an axe while the fairy goes to full size. Snow has collected enough money for a ship passage. Charming’s mother gives him money for the journey to sell the farm. He is headed for Longbourne. Storybrooke, David and the others discuss the potion. Emma’s hands still shake. Regina pours a drop of potion onto a tree that instantly kills it, water from the River of Lost Souls, she knows it comes from Mr. Gold. Mary Margaret worries about he situation with David. Prince Charming walks the forest with Wilby who has found a cup. He runs off to a carriage and sees a man, a merchant, who also is going to Longbourne. He opens the carriage that has chains. Blue walks with Snow who explains that the brooch was given by mother to her father who gave it to Regina. Blue in the form of Mother Superior talks about a sapling that could counter the Evil Queen. Regina talks about a “certain chemistry” with Rumple. Zelena gets a note from the Evil Queen to meet at Mr. Gold’s shop, sent by Regina. The Evil Queen is kissing Gold and they are seen by Zelena. She is angry at the Evil Queen and her neck goes green. Gold knows the note was from Regina. Mother Superior casts her spell. David is walking with the Woodcutter, he takes a drink, and falls. Snow gets out a rock and sees Snow. The Woodcutter throws an axe and faces her. Regina uncovers at rap door by the river and purple clouds them down.

Hook checks some potions, Emma has trouble picking up a carton, Hook reassures her that her parents will save her. He has taken Henry’s book and tells her the story of Snow White and Emma. Hook tells her that she is “the product of True Love.” Charming is woken by Wilby. Snow is trapped in the carriage and Charming reaches it. He returns with a rock to break the lock. In the cave, the trio finds the sapling. They pick up the sapling and flash back through their story. They face the Evil Queen who purple clouds away the sapling and breaks it turning it into dust. David tells her that they still have time. Mary Margaret is at the baby carriage and she tells David they can’t let the town die. They go over the memory, the Woodcutter throws his axe and David fights him. Snow catches his axe through the carriage and David stabs him with his stump of an axe. Snow is worried that seeing her face will make him a target. Snow wants to give him money to save his farm. He takes the money their fingers touch and a rainbow drop falls and turns into the sapling! The Evil Queen has the Storybrooke people assembled at the graveyard. Zelena is there talking to Belle. Regina is there with Emma. Mary Margaret arrives with David who tells Regina to lift the protection spell. The Evil Queen reaches out and pulls out their hearts! She is about to crush them, but wants to give them her pain, giving them back their hearts. Mary Margaret collapses, a Sleeping Curse, and purple clouds her away. The Evil Queen taunts him with his words that he always finds her. Gold sees Belle who tells him about his relationship with the Evil Queen and the Golden Shears to use on their son. She tells him to be worthy of her son’s love. He is worried about failing and she leaves. David goes to their house and then realizes Snow is in the woods. He races into the misty woods with Emma behind them. Mary Margaret is asleep in the glass coffin. He kisses her and her eyes open sending out a wave of magic. Then, he falls asleep. Regina finds the curse is on their hearts so one will be asleep and the other awake. Very Ladyhawke. Three Daggers of the Dark One out of Five!
