Pride and Prejudice and Zombies!
Jondee here in 19th century England,
2016 promises zombies and miracles. First up is Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. Based on the novel by Seth Grahame-Smith. It combined Jane Austen’s classic novel, but adding to the social mores of the time, yawn, is some zombie fighting action by the lethal Bennet sisters, awesome! Grahame-Smith’s other novel, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, was made into a filming 2012 by Timur Bekmambetov, still one of my favorites! The premise interested me, started reading the book, and also that Lily James from this year’s Cinderella is going from fairy tale to zombie slayer! The film opens on February 5th, 2016. Here’s the official summary:
A zombie outbreak has fallen upon the land in this reimagining of Jane Austen’s classic tale of the tangled relationships between lovers from different social classes in 19th century England. Feisty heroine Elizabeth Bennet (Lily James) is a master of martial arts and weaponry and the handsome Mr. Darcy (Sam Riley) is a fierce zombie killer, yet the epitome of upper class prejudice. As the zombie outbreak intensifies, they must swallow their pride and join forces on the blood-soaked battlefield in order to conquer the undead once and for all.
