At a maximum security prison, two guards are deciding which one will bring dinner to a prisoner. The guard hears a doll which says, “I love you, do you love me?” He checks on the cell and sees the leg of the prisoner on the ground. The guard opens the cell door and the prisoner (Henry Czerny) throws a toy yo-yo into his chest. The prisoner in the guard’s uniform throws another yo-yo with spikes into the other guard and then takes out another one. In the sky, Martian Manhunter is flying next to Supergirl. He is showing her “proper flight technique”, observed by Alex. He shape shifts back into Hank Hanshaw. They are planning on getting into Maxwell Lord’s Room 52. Hank doesn’t want to use his powers to reach Room 52. At Catco, Cat is talking to Lucy about her sister, Lois Lane, but they haven’t been talking. Cat wants Lucy to work for her. Jimmy and Kara are watching the conference with Winn. On the news, they hear a report about the escape of Toy Man. Toy Man first appeared in Action Comics #64 (1943). He also appeared in two episodes of Smallville played by Chris Gauthier. Winn turns off the channel and walks away. The meeting is finished with Cat and Lucy. She is talking to Winn about the escape of Toy Man. He says he has not been contacted by his father. Winn tells, “The day he set off a toy bomb and killed a half dozen people was the day that I stopped being his son.” Kara has overheard the conversation using her super hearing. Winn explains that his father was a toy builder who became angry when his boss stole his toy designs. He put a bomb in a teddy bear to Chester Dunholtz and this ended up being opened by an assistant. Winn shows Kara a doll that resembles the comic book Toy Man and plays it, “Son, come meet me at our favorite place. I’ll be waiting for you.” He hates his father and Kara hugs him before he talks to Agent Chase. At the DEO, Hank makes a plan, but Alex tries to convince him to use his powers. He explains he tried to be John Jones, but was hunted for fifty years. Hank explains that using his shapeshifting will make him the Martian Manhunter forever. Alex says that Kara needs his help. Winn is walking in a dock talking into his wire observed by Agent Chase with Kara. Lucy tells Jimmy that most of Catco employees are women. She wants Jimmy to be supportive, but it’s complicated.  Lord Technologies, Lord gets a call from Alex and they arrange a dinner.  At an empty arcade, Winn hears the doll with the same message. Winslow Sr. tells his son that he broke out of prison for him. Agent Chase brings in the tactical team. Winn is hurt that his father was sent to prison. The team breaks in and they shoot at Toy Man, but he shatters in glassy shards. The doll tells Winn to run as poisonous gas fills the arcade. Supergirl takes in the gas and flies to expel it.

Alex appears in a black dinner dress with Lord staring. Cat wants to know from Kara that Winn is the son of Toy Man. She also wants hiring information on Lucy who hints that Kara might have feelings for him. Cat remarks to herself, “Honestly, she should be paying me by the hour.” LOL! Dinner, Alex asks what the aliens were looking for at his lab. He wants to know about Supergirl, Alex tells him her “organization” has a partnership with her. She checks her cell phone and then we see Lord in a corridor talking with an assistant. He sends her away and his eyes glow Martian red. “Lord” tries to use his handprint to get access to Room 52 and then uses his power to enter it. He sees the lab and woman patient there whose eyes open, all black. A guard bursts in and “Lord” wants the patient moved, the guard says she’s “Code Phoenix.” He knocks the guard down and Hank wipes out his memory. He promises to return for the woman.

Dumholtz is speaking when Winn brings up the gun, he fires it into the air. FBI agents including Chase shoot at him, but the bullets are deflected by Supergirl. Winn tells Supergirl about the ten bombs. She uses her x-ray vision and sees Toy Man in the basement. He sets off the bombs and Supergirl flies up to the ceiling. Supergirl says she messed up with Winn as she sits with her sister on the couch. Alex admits that she convinced Hank to use his powers. She then tells about the dinner with Lord. A camera implanted in the apartment shows the scene to Lord. Um, Supergirl can’t hear the electronics in the camera?  Three Kryptonite bars out of Five!
