It’s the Contest of Champions for the strongest! These are contests to decide the best in five categories for super-heroes, not super villains, and main characters who are on teams or who have solo titles, in the DC and Marvel Universes and of course facing each other. Here are the strongest males in both universes!

DC – Superman was created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster in Action Comics#1 (1938), Kal-El was of course sent as a baby from Krypton to Smallville, Earth, growing up Clark Kent, he came the greatest hero, Superman!, the Silver Age version had him moving planets, post-Crisis, in Who’s Who it states that theoretically he could lift the Great Pyramids of Egypt, if he could keep the structure intact. Superman was recently portrayed by Tyler Hoechlin in the Supergirl series.

Marvel – Hulk had the team of Stan Lee and Jack Kirby to create him in The Incredible Hulk #1 (1962), Bruce Banner was of course bombarded with gamma radiation that transformed him when he was angry, into the Hulk!, the strongest one of them all, he has “limitless” strength, increases with his anger, it is theorized that Banner holds his strength in check to stop harm.  The most recent actor to play the Hulk was of course Mark Ruffalo in Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015).

Superman vs. Hulk? Superman faced the Hulk in Superman and Spider-Man (1981) treasury edition. Doom lured the Hulk into Metropolis using a beacon, he finds that Superman is not fazed by his punches and can’t move him so he gets exhausted and reverts back to Banner. In DC vs. Marvel #3 (1996) Superman knocks out Hulk. The one-shot Incredible Hulk vs. Superman (1999) has Hulk and Superman trading punches, Superman knocks down Hulk more times and finally reasons with him which calms him down. So in a straight fight, Superman would win. Note that Superman pummeled Thor (not at Hulk’s power level) in Avengers/JLA #2 (2003) by Kurt Buseik and George Perez.  If it is a pure strength contest like an arm wrestling match, the Hulk wins. Since we are looking at strength, it’s the Hulk, SMASH!
