Wynonna Earp, “Keep the Home Fires Burning”, Review!

Wynonna Earp has joined the Black Badge division to stop all sorts of supernatural threats.
She takes on a revenant, what her father calls demons, with a Black Badge gun. The revenant, Red (David Haysom) chomps off the finger off of a woman. Wynonna tries to clear the club yelling, “Crazy chick with a gun!” Red is able to get away and returns to his gang. In walks, Doc Holliday in his fine Western clothes. Agent Dolls shows Wynonna a picture of a crater, formerly an overrun town in New Mexico, destroyed by missiles. The leader of the gang steps on Holliday’s face saying, “You ain’t one of us.” Red tries to go after Wyatt Earp’s gun, but it burns his hand and he gets one bullet to the head sending him back. Wynonna’s sister, Waverly, in shorts works at Shorty’s Saloon when the beer tap sprays her top. An officer walks in, Nicole Haught (Katherine Barrell) asks if bar has a wet t-shirt contest. Waverly reads the officer’s name on a business card and finds that it’s “Officer Hot.”
Waverly in her new shirt sees Holliday trying to get a drink. She mistakes Holliday for a Earp groupie. He says, “Darling, I’m everyone’s type.” One of the gang members, Levi, says that they need mortal blood “freely given” to hire the shadow assassin, Jim Miller. Holliday takes Levi to a barn, cuts his hand, and throws a book to the shadow assassin, it’s Waverly’s book! Agent Dolls calls Wynonna telling them they need to find a talisman that will protect their house. The sky suddenly turns dark. Waverly flashes back to burying the talisman and they race to the pet cemetery. Waverly digs up the grave of Pikachu the Hamster while Wynonna takes on the shadow assassin. She finds the talisman and throws it which also throws Levi who tried to attack Agent Dolls with an axe. Holliday is told by the leader to take Levi “across the line.” He uses chains to drag Levi who starts to burn. The leader has the same name, Bobo, as Waverly’s childhood “imaginary friend.” There are secrets here with fun mixed with supernatural action, a little sexy, with strong female roles.
